Preparation For Sleep Study
Important Guidelines
1. Please ensure to arrive at the center at the scheduled time coordinated with the secretary, in order to complete some necessary procedures before starting the study, such as measuring blood pressure, height, and weight, and reviewing any medications the patient may be taking.
2. Do not sleep during the afternoon or throughout the day designated for the study, while ensuring to take any usual medications (if any) at their scheduled times.
3. It is preferable not to consume any stimulants on the day of the study, such as tea, coffee, instant coffee, soft drinks, or cigarettes.
4. Have a light dinner before arriving.
5. Wash your hair thoroughly and ensure it is completely dry. Do not apply any cream or gel to your hair. It is also preferable to avoid using makeup as much as possible, especially nail polish. For men, it is preferable to shave if possible.
6. Wash your feet thoroughly.
7. The patient should bring: appropriate sleepwear with wide and loose sleeves and legs, a toothbrush, slippers, etc.
8. The center provides sleep covers, pillows, and towels (sterilized and specific for the patient).
9. No companions are allowed unless the patient is a child or unable to care for themselves. In such cases, only one companion is permitted, and there is no extra bed available for the companion.
10. In case of rescheduling or cancellation due to emergencies, please inform us at least one day before the scheduled appointment.
11. For CPAP therapy study, please bring the patient’s personal mask if available.

Healthy Sleep Tips
Important Guidelines
- Keep a consistent sleep schedule. Get up at the same time every day, even on weekends or during vacations.
- Set a bedtime that is early enough for you to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.
- Don’t go to bed unless you are sleepy.
- If you don’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, get out of bed. Go do a quiet activity without a lot of light exposure. It is especially important to not get on electronics.
- Establish a relaxing bedtime routine.
- Use your bed only for sleep and sex.
- Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing.
- Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature.
- Limit exposure to bright light in the evenings.
- Turn off electraonic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
- Don’t eat a large meal before bedtime. If you are hungry at night, eat a light, healthy snack.
- Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.
- Avoid consuming caffeine in the afternoon or evening.
- Avoid consuming alcohol before bedtime.
